Easy & Affordable Steps for an Evening Skincare Routine

Evening skincare routine

Hi again beautiful! Last week I wrote a post on an easy and affordable morning skincare routine while suggesting a few of my favorite products. Under $50 you could get everything you need to protect your skin throughout the day. This time, I’ll go over the ideal evening skincare routine in just a couple of steps.

Remember that in order to always have your glowing face on you need to be consistent. Every morning. Every night. Not exceptions. If you follow my steps, this process should not take. you more than 5 to 10 minutes so let’s get started!

1- Makeup Remover

NOT to be confused with washing your face! The skin around your eyes will need extra love and care so you will want to treat this area carefully.

Personally, I love Lancome’s Eye Makeup Remover. I got a sample a few years ago and I’ve been hooked since then. I like it because it’s very gentle on my eyes while removing every bit of makeup without trying too hard.

Another great choice which can be more affordable is the L’Oreal Eye Makeup Remover and also does the job beautifully.

For the rest of your face, I switch between the Cetaphil Makeup Remover and the Neutrogena Face Wipes. This last option is great if you are traveling as they are easy to pack and go.

2- Cleanse

Once the makeup is gone, I clean my face with lukewarm water and the same Cetaphil’s cleanser that I used in the morning. I love the price tag since I can usually get a large bottle under $12. Woot woot!

I’ve also heard great reviews on the TruSkin Vitamin C cleanser. Skin products with vitamin C have seemed to increase popularity recently and I’m planning to give this one a try. I actually use this brand for another skin care product.

3- Exfoliate

You do NOT want to skip this step if you want to prevent the appearance of blackheads! Also, exfoliating regularly will help with the texture of your skin and minimize the appearance of large pores. Trust me, I’ve been guilty of skipping this step before and my skin has been quick to remind me that I’m not exfoliating! Your skin won’t like to you! Foundation and all other makeup products will be quick to expose your skin flaws if you don’t exfoliate.

Personally, I rather exfoliate daily so I use Cetaphil’s Face Scrub. Not only this product is so gently it will never irritate my skin not matter how often I use it but it is affordable and of great quality.

I also like St. Ive’s Face Scrub. While you can tell this one is not as gentle as Cetaphil’s option, it is still of amazing quality and it smells delicious!

4- Eye Serum

The skin around your eyes is very thin and you will want to treat it with some restorative serums to help it strengthen and repair while you sleep.

My favorite eye serum is again carried by Cetaphil! ;). Cetaphil’s Hydrating Eye Gel an be applied right after you clean and exfoliate your skin and before your overnight moisturizer. I’ve used it for the last 6 months and I’ve noticed that it helps prevent dark circles around my eyes.

I’ve also recently heard a lot of good things soon Baebody Eye Gel. I first heard of it from a few of my girlfriends and then I confirmed they hype when I noticed Amazon’s reviews. I’m planning to get it next but let me know on the comment section if you have it tried it before and what you thought of it!

5- Moisturizer

This is the very last step. Depending on your preference, you may want your evening moisturizer to be richer that your morning one. It will help keep your skin hydrated while you sleep.

Olay Night Recover Cream is a solid option for your evening routine. While I’m very particular about the products I use on my face, I’ve learned that there is no need in spending extra cash on higher end products when there are so many high quality options that are more affordable.

If you are not a fan of thick moisturizers at nighttime, CeraVe Facial Moisturizing lotion is also often recommended by dermatologists. I personally love CeraVe’s products because they seem to work well for my skin.
